Try this. It's a disposable refrigerate can. All refrigeration places use and throw these away. If your in CPT I can hook you up.
A friendly warning - read the label before cutting open - new refrigerants r600a and r290 are flamable - butane & iso butane so cutting one of these will be same as cutting an lpg tank open. Not many around at the moment but rather be safe than sorry.

I personally do not have the balls to cut open a lpg type cylinder, would def ask a pro to do it. Our workshop has a scrap piece of 200mm pipe for me, but the wall is 6mm, going to be very heavy. I have asked a mate of mine with an engineering shop to fabricate the drum for me, he said he will see what he can do as they are very busy at the mo. Hopefully he helps me out.

A polyurethane lining would be better.

My father in law knows some people who do polyu linings

Would they custom mould to the provided shape? I would be grateful if you could find a contact number for me. Thanks

It would be great if we can get stainless media in SA.
I have a local source for stainless steel balls, 0.7 - 1.5 mm . Need to look it up, minimum bag 25 kg.

If you buy the media from US, you'll pay many times the value in shipping because of the weight.

There's a place in Edenvale that does linings to any container. Just Google it.

What are the largest sized stainless steel balls one could use?

And could one not just use regular BB gun pellets?

I wonder if the balls would give the same results as the pins? I found a local supplier for the pins, but they are thicker than the ones used in the US (1mm vs 1,5mm), so I ordered 2kg, hope they work as well as the ones on stainlesstumblingmedia.com.

Found Polyurethane Technologies and Rhino Linings, I assume it would be the former?

I think BB pellets are steel and would rust very quickly, especially with citric or tartaric acid.
