Re: High-end earmuffs, low-end NRR?
The Gel pads that MSA had were imported on our insistence and is currently sold out afaik - check with Jacques.
If we can get a list going (so we can get some idea on quantity) for MSA gel pads via Jacques at Hailtorm (012 7584 0777) we will most certainly put in an order again.

Re: High-end earmuffs, low-end NRR?
If I do manage to pick up the MSA's at Huntex, I'd be interested in 2 sets of the gel earpads. Where will the list be kept? A thread in Group Buy's?

I think that will be a great idea, I just bought the muffs and they arrived via fastway, thanks Jacques, just upset I can't get the gel pads too.
Thanks

Re: High-end earmuffs, low-end NRR?
A pistol shot is 150 decibels, and my Peltor earmuffs have a NRR of 20.
The noise does not reach my ears at 130 decibels, because the pain threshold is 125 decibels, and all I hear is a dull crack.
So the earmuff NRR decibel level is not a linear thing.

Apparently, some black sorcery happened and I just vicariously bought a pair of MSA's from Hailstorm...

So much for waiting until Huntex - at the rate people are suddenly buying the MSA's, Hailstorm won't have any stock left, come next weekend.
That said, the same spell came over me a few minutes ago, twice. :P

Just unpacked mine and tested them, well not with gun shots but wow I'm impressed. Solid product, feel amazingly comfortable and great sound clarity!!!
I'm very happy with em
