Re: Idpa/Ipsc target stand
Sorry one more question, how long do you make the brandering uprights?

Re: Idpa/Ipsc target stand
On most ranges I think that target stands being shot up is less of as issue than the stands being stolen and sold as scrap metal.
A great idea I got from a club member who in turn got the idea from a club in Limpopo is to tie two pieces of 50mm black water pipe to the inside of a used car tyre. Apparently the low profile 17" tyres are almost the exact right size for the IPSC/IDPA targets.
Material is very cheap/free and almost nobody wants to steal the stands so it can be left on the range.
I will post a photo as soon as I can find where I saved it but you should get the idea from the description above

Re: Idpa/Ipsc target stand
Necropost. Need to revive this.
Was thinking of making my own but want to check dimensions of a standard IPSC target. I've found it to be 45cm wide. Is this correct? Height isn't a problem, just don't want to make it too narrow or wide.

Its not the same as building it yourself but it a brilliant design and very well priced.

Re: Idpa/Ipsc target stand
So heading out to a friends farm one of these days and he doesn't have anything in terms of targets, so want to make one that I can easily pack in and out.
Is the PVC still the best quick DIY idea.
My welder is an ancient piece of crap and is a nightmare to weld with, but will give it a go on some old metal I have lying around, but in the mean time is the 50mm PVC with wood the best way to go?
Anyone know of a shop that sells a stand that is decently priced?
