I'm not sure how well it will do in the hot weather, it might start to smell.

The Beretta 92 copies are made, as you said, in Turkey. They are fairly decent firearms for what they are. Licensed copies similar to the Z-88. The parts are interchangeable and the magazines work. I do not have any first hand experience shooting one and only saw one at a gun show.

The are slightly rougher than the 92's and Z-88's, but they did seem functional. It will more or less meet your requirements quite well.

The latest Girsan isn't rougher than the 92 or the Z88...it is excellently finished, as well as any Beretta inside and out. Excellent quality, all parts will interchange. Grip has been designed to feel slightly smaller than the 92SF. Otherwise, identical except the latest import was improved at our request with the addition of rails, the same as the 92A1 Beretta.
In all, an excellent choice that sold out in a week, and awaiting more. Set to be a very popular choice in SA at a good price. (Under R6500)

Guys I have bought the girsan and have to say it shoots exceptionally well, very well made and excellent bang for your buck, pun intended!

Where do I get grips for the damn thing tho? My hands are fairly big and as you say the grips do feel a bit smaller than on a beretta.
I have found some grips online for the 92FS but not sure if they will fit the girsan as it already has finger grooves cut in the frame?

Anyone at a gunshop ever played around with grips on the girsan(the model with the rail/finger grooves)? Any advice would be appreciated!

Lots for sale in the introduction section.
