.308 bullet weight for the one bullet man
My brother in law is a real one bullet man, and I don't think he goes to shoot very much.
now the question is. what bullet weight does he choose that he can get used to and hunt springbok to gemabok at karoo and kalahari distances.
I want to suggest a 150gr boat tail bullet. but need some input. before I just tell him that what I think

Hahaha Messor.
JouDoring, what is the calibre? There are plenty different calibers using the .308 bullet.
I assume you refer to .308Win, in which case a 150gr or 165gr should do just fine.

Re: .308 bullet weight for the one bullet man
I have done some research, and it seems 165gr has the least variation in ballistic performance. It is the flattest shooting bullet for a .308. 150gr loses momentum and 180 gr has too big a trajectory from the start for longer distances. Got the following from the internet:

Re: .308 bullet weight for the one bullet man
i prefer the 160g woodleighs. they retain their weight very well, they are very accurate in most rifles and are not insanely priced.

Re: .308 bullet weight for the one bullet man
The "thing" you need to take into account is barrel/rifling twist imo. That may very well be an important factor that should influence your decision.
