    Default Wetpack JHP testing

    Hi all,

Going to the range to test a few JHP's tomorrow, got a couple phonebooks and want to use them as test media.
Anyone done this before? If so, how many books should i use (ave. thickness) and how long do I soak them for?

    Thanks.

Tape about 5 or six together. Leave them in the bathtub/pool overnight.

    Ive done it.

Soak them till they are wet through. Probably need about 6-8.

They need to be as wet as possible when you shoot them. He He

Next question, how many 9x19 rounds will a wetpack take providing they're spaced at least 2" apart?
    Any ideas?

    brendank... any results worth posting?

i saw the post late but if you haven't done the tests already, you will need about 5 or 6 packs (of 6 taped together) to get a good idea for comparison

    Some interesting results LR.
Esp. regarding the 135gr .40S&W Cor-Bon and .40S&W Sentry round, both blew MASSIVE hole right through 4 thick books taped together, whereas the 127gr +P+ Ranger SXT's and others stopped within the first two books.

The 'wound channels' from the 135gr Cor-Bon and .40 Sentry were incredible...
Needless to say I didn't recover either.
