Cape Town - Six people were wounded when a gang tried to rob a Cape Town shop at the weekend, it was reported on Monday.

The Daily Voice reported that a group of armed men entered a clothing shop in Gugulethu Square on Sunday and demanded cash.

A shoot-out ensued between the gang and security guards.

Two guards and two of the armed men were wounded. The armed men fled.

Two people inside the shop were treated for bullet wounds.

Lieutenant Colonel Thembinkosi Kinana told the newspaper no arrests had been made.

Good stuff. Glad there were no serious injuries to bystanders. Crappy article though and I doubt if we will see a follow up

I did not know there was a Mall in Gugulethu Square????????? Good one for the Security Guards to stand up and not run away.

Don't be fooled by the windowdressing of shacks next to the N2, it's a thin veil of shabbiness hiding brick houses, schools and malls.

I have actually been there when I was still doing Cash In Transit. It is a KAK scary place to be - especially when you are carrying a moerse lot of money with you. No Bulletproof vest can make you feel safe enough!
