Default Re: 7.65mm for self defence?

I suppose I can use my trusty old Tokarev as an SD sidearm. Millions of Russians did it from 1933. Even they realized that the projectile is just too small to do significant tissue damage and replaced it with the Makarov.
Would I do it? Yes, and have done so on occasion. This happened when my cz75 was out of action and I trusted it more than my STAR model B. It also seemed a bit better than my 455 Webley or my Baby Browning.

There are better options out there. If I already had a G19, then there would be very few occasions where I would use a PPK over a G19.

Everyone has probably already seen and read these articles, anyways for those that haven’t, it will remain very informative, with valuable data.

Loadshedding here so i am reading old threads and having a few laughs.

I own several firearms one of them being a 32ACP PPK. But i never carry it. Low capacity and low stopping power. When i want to carry smaller i carry a snub nose revolver. Yes, challenges on capacity, but u can bet i have put hundreds of rounds downrange with my Ruger LCR 9mmP and my Ruger SP101 in 38spl. Is it an ideal choice, no, but its a personal choice. When one is expecting trouble u carry a high capacity 9mmP pistol. These days i am happier with a 357mag or a 45ACP. But u hav to understand your limitations.

The .32ACP is not a great choice when there are better choices out there. My brother is a paramedic and he has been to plenty gunshots. Plenty of people hav died from being shot with puny calibres like 22lr and 32ACP but plenty also survived. A lot of guys carry 9mmP but then they use FMJ ammo which is not the best stopper. Hollowpoints in bigger calibres win the day every time. Very few are not stopped by a magnum calibre. Bigger is better.
