QD Bases & Rings
I need advice on a decent set of QD mounts for a 375 H&H. I had a look at Talley and Leupold, any comments welcomed.

Re: QD Bases & Rings
Make sure you get a decent set on a heavy rifle like a .375.

Re: QD Bases & Rings
It's a custom build on a VZ 24 action.

Re: QD Bases & Rings
My 375 is also on a VZ 24 and I use Talley QD mounts with a Leupold 1.5-5 x 20. Got them from Brownells in the states.
Feel free to get a set, they are excellent!

Re: QD Bases & Rings
Rudib, does this system keep it's zero when removing and replacing the scope?
Have you removed the ramp / raised area on the rear ring of the action, would this make a difference to the bases I need to get?
Did you replace your magazine folower or are you happy with the original?

Re: QD Bases & Rings
I am happy with the ability to hold zero. I would say if you removed the scope ten times (each time after a shot), you will still be within hunting accuracy. My rear ring is machined off, so there is no ramp or raised bit. If I look at the base I have, there is no way it can fit with the raised section on the rear ring.
I ordered a magnum follower from Brownells, but ended up putting back the original one. I think the original one is much better.

Re: QD Bases & Rings
If you want the best money can buy then you must look at the EAW stuff.
Very expensive but a work of art 409 Euro for mounts and rings for a 375 H&H Mannlicher happy0065

Re: QD Bases & Rings
Have a look at the Warne Maxima QD mounts, they are distributed by Lynx Optics in SA. Sugested retail price is +/-R1300 for 25mm and +/-R1500 or 30mm Brno Models
Truvelo use the Weaver versions on all of their sniper rifles including the 14.5mm and 20mm models and they withstand the recoil and retain their zero perfectly.
