The only affordable way to go is Frontier copper plated - they really work as well as any thing else and cost a lot less. We busy trying out the back yard thing of drilling the bullets. Small hole deeply and a shallow much larger chamfer hole to try initiate some subsonic mushrooming. We using press to duplicate exact depths etc. Not trying to be clever stuff - its just that there are no bullets made for this application in hunting. We have found that unless you hit central nerve system or break a bone the sub Sonic's just pass through. Monkeys , crows etc no problem, but Blesbuck Duiker etc do not get killed by the bullet - they just seem to die from it.(only way to describe it) For shooting paper and such anything you got can be used.

Treeman where do you get the Frontiers? I see you're also from PE. What do they go for per 100 heads?

    Thanks

www.frontierbullets.co.za Contact them - you want the copper plated rifle bullets. I would have to look up the other site where they listed. But just phone in and say you want the 165gr .308 bullets.

This thread reminded me about some bullets taking up space in my collection.

Yeti, have you tried lighter bullets like the 110gr Vmax in the pictures? If you are keen, give me shout. I'll be happy to donate the bullets for your experiments, and kind sharing.

It looks like the Vmax box is full (100), bullets all moly-coated, not guaranteed though as I will not count them.

My keyboard already full of moly from counting the Speer.

Anyway, there are about 65-69 (moly-coated) Speer. Dropped it and won't count again :)
    The Hornady 170gr - 50 count

If Yeti won't take them, and only if he won't, I would love to take maybe even one box to experiment with.
