    Default 9.3 x 62 by Ernst Steigleger

Does anyone have any information about this gun maker from Berlin and Suhl.
I have recently purchased a 9.3 x 62 with these names on it. I am told the rifle is from 1928 (or 38), unfortunately I have not managed to get photo's yet. I only saw it for briefly, put it in my shoulder, worked the action and said "thank you I will take it".

It has had some work done to it - cross bolted, extended stock and scope fitted, but other wise has beautiful 'lines' and shape with a rather unusual barrel setup. It starts off looking octagonal/hexagonal in the stock from the top but is round on the exit, starting off quite thick, almost bull and tapering to end.
Lovely foresight with a range of rear leaves that need some attention and one proper safari sight.

Mauser action with rear safety like Mannlicher on a very fat bolt handle with an enormous knob.

It could probably do with some attention - but for now I am so excited for the first shoot in 2 weeks.

    Any information greatly appreciated please.

You will also find the steel the E. Steigleder used was the finest from Krupp Stahlwerks.

Post some pictures, Always like to see things made in Suhl.
