Watch how the MA shooters move between shooting positions compared to the rest of us to get an idea what the difference is between MA's and the rest of us - meaning SS and MM shooters.

Good posts Glocky, and well worthy of a thread of their own.

A lot of us, me included, just pitch on the day and muddle through what is presented to us. Frankly we're too goddam lazy, and not committed enough to get anywhere.

And this doesn't just apply to shooting either. The Super Squad (call them what you will, and many of us do... even jokingly) LISTEN intently to the briefings and ask insightful questions. They patch and pickup brass better and faster than the average detail. You rarely if ever have to chase them. The guys on standby are always ready to step up.

As an example, on Stage 11 and 12 (my two stages), the average time per detail was 90 minutes. Detail one took 50 minutes from walking onto the range to walking off, done and dusted.

They are serious about their shooting in all aspects. That's what the rest of us lack.

Absolutely agreed Paul. The speed and efficiency at which they work make it a joy to have them on the range. There is still great banter among them, but when it is time the game faces appear. It is also a amazing (and depressing) to see them shoot.

Every shot is every shot, every target is every target, and every stage is every stage. Part of the trick is to learn to shoot the match like that - once you learn how, please teach me!
I agree ... it's really good advice, but difficult to follow. If it was easy, we would all be masters.
