Default Hornady XTP as carry ammo

Hi guys, would like your take on the Hornady XTP 115gr 9mm bullets. Are they ok for carry ammo? I only have a couple of gold dots left and cant find anything else than the XTP's in bloem. My experience with Hornady is limited to V-max, A-max and SST rifle bullets and they impressed me.

Should i buy them at R290/100 or wait for something better?

Not my first choice but I wouldnt have an issue carrying them as long as they are reliable in your gun.

R290/100 is almost the price of range ammo. i would say you keep a box in the safe somewhere

Where can you get them? Skietwinkel? If so the price went down since I last checked on them.

Just spoke to one of the guys at Gerrie Coetzee arms at the Co-op. He says they should get some either tomorrow or tuesday.

I am assuming R290/100 is for bullets not ammo?

    Thanks.

Don't worry - I'm not buying any bullets anytime soon. Your bullets are safe!

They work. Penetration will be better on the 115gr XTP than any other 115gr JHP (bar 115gr Speer GD) due to design.
Also not my first choice, but I tested a handloaded (1150FPS from 4" bbl) one, two weeks back in wetpack and it penetrated/expanded well.
Will post a pic if I can get one small enough.
