Practical shooting club vs Defensive shooting club
Hi guys
My name is Wade and im relatively new to the world of firearms. I am interested in joining a shooting club but not sure on the difference between defensive shooting and the practical shooting. I would like to achieve my DSS status. Which would be the best route? I have a CZ P07 Duty and live in Benoni.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Wade

They are both games. Neither are "training". They just have different rules.
Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Re: Practical shooting club vs Defensive shooting club
The closest club for you is probably Golden City in Alberton (Swartkoppies Road) They host IPSC and IDPA clubs and the facility is excellent.
The web site is http://www.goldcityshooting.com/

Re: Practical shooting club vs Defensive shooting club
The Defensive boys have a shoot on Saturday, will be using handguns - full size, back up guns and some rifle stages.
Take Swartkoppies offramp, head west for 3,5km's entrance to the range on your right.
Chat to Craig, Stephan or Chris - good bunch of guys.
DSS relatively easy to achieve - you need 20points. Awarded 4 for a club shoot, 6 for a league, 8 for a provincial nationals and 10 points for the IDPA Africa Champs.
With a bit of work you can have DSS within 2 months!
Check out www.sadpa.co.za for a good idea of what defensive shooting is about.
