Impala with the Ruger

Got this young Impala ram this Sat morning with the GP100. 38 meter shot at a waterhole. Not ideal I know, but I was not too confident with the distances of shots that were presenting themselves on the previous day when I tried some walk and stalk hunting, the herds were very wary by this time of year. Next year I will try too spend more time in the field to get one on foot. The bullet was a 158gr XTP HP at 1300 fps, hitting the upper half of the vitals perfectly broadside, and dropping the animal on the spot. Bullet exited and was not recovered.

Yep, very little, allthought the XTP left a decent exit hole.

That is so cool. It's been a dream of mine since forever, to own and hunt with a proper revolver! Just decided, a .44 Mag revolver is being added to my "buy list"!
