Not much selection in South Africa. Check out Gi Combat Supplies for their vest. Otherwise if you want more choice or concealable try http://www.globalarmour.co.za/. Level 3a is rated for handguns whilst level 3 is for rifles. Level 3 obviously is going to weigh a lot more and would normally include plates on top of kevlar.

Another KZN company, you can order and they will ship it via courier: Imperial Armour, or in Centurion (Gauteng) Military & Security Equipment, I went via Imperial Armour, was cheaper at the time, MSE had fast responses to queries, but the price was a bit more.

I bought a covert t-shirt from global armor received very good service and a fantastic quality product! Highly comfortable even in heat for hours. Protection level they will ask and advise you when placing your order.

What did the t-shirt cost you and what is it rated to protect against?

To be honest I don't remember the price I will digging up the email with the price but it wasn't steep and included delivery to my door, protection level was all handgun calibers if I'm not mistaken. I'm not to clued up with it although I do use it quite often I will try get details for you but again you can specify level of protection and they will advise you
