Re: Firearms Facts - A good read
Thanks Gerard
There is a lot of good information in this study, and given that it is intended for use in preparation for debates, letters to the media etc, I think that it is a good idea. tup
I would like to suggest a similar study and compilation of facts regarding all aspects of firearms in RSA. Would GOSA be the body to orchestrate this? I would be very willing to contribute to a fund to pay for research, documentation and compilation of similar stats in RSA - much in the same way as we were asked to contribute towards the SAHGCA action brought to court by Martin Hood, as well as the JASA case. I am sure that most forum members would similarly be happy to contribute to this cause! Good info is invaluable!!!
What would the GOSA and Gunsite ninjas think of the idea?? confused0083
Again thanks!

I'd be happy to contribute. Good idea. Something similar from 2002 of the GOSA site A Critical Analysis of Firearm Control in Post-Apartheid South Africa by Sheila Coxford, UCT

Re: Firearms Facts - A good read
Definitely very interesting. What more has to be done to show the countries in the study that banning firearms put law abiding citizens at risk.
If something similar will have an effect in this country( talking about scrapping the FCA of 2000 etc) then i am also in.

Re: Firearms Facts - A good read
Thanks Kaspaas, some good facts and arguments there.
Does anybody else have any good research in this field - if so please share with us. The collection of real information (beyond what we as 'pro-gun-ownership' people hold as belief) is important, and unlike your spare mag, sharing the info makes it more useful to all of us.
