    Default LWRC REPR 308

Hi Guys, does anyone know if anyone in SA imports the LWRC ar's? If so, does anyone have experience with the LWRC REPR 308 that can give advise on how it compares to the PWS MK214 308? Love the look of this one!!

No have not been that lucky.

I have not seen one either.

If you want a SASS type rifle get the DPMS SASS 308 when they are available again or a PWS MK214 if you want a lighter shorter rifle that is not a SASS rifle.

308 ARs are quite scarce in SA most of the time.

I like the PWS products - I had a MK214 which was a real pleasure to shoot and now have a Mod 1 Mk114 which is a really nice and reliable good quality well built rifle.

Another possibility is the SIG 716 when they get here.

I Looked at the DPMS sass 308 and the Sig 716, not really my cup of tea if i'm honest!! I am sure they are both great weapons and would not say no if the gun fairy dropped one in my safe!! But with my own money I would probably then go with the MK214 and trick it out with the cash I am saving as well as buy a few boxes of ammo! Have you had any experience with the GAP 10 at all? From what i've read it is cheaper than the REPR and rated as one of the best SASS rifles available to the civilian market? Obviously getting it in SA is another story but we can dream??

Imo you need to decide if you need a SASS rifle or a 3 gun type/battle rifle.

What are you going to use it for?

The REPR, SASS by DPMS and Armalite and others and the KAC 308 are in the same game with the REPR and KAC about twice the price of the DPMS. They are all quite heavy in weight and some more so than others.

The PWS MK214 is lighter shorter and handier. Much better for dynamic action type shooting sports imo.

The Sig 716 is in the same game as the PWSMK214 although a bit heavier afaik.

The GAP has an excellent precision barrel - will be a R55k plus rifle if someone imports it.

You could probably make a list of 10 -15 excellent SASS type rifles and not see one of them in SA due to huge back orders and pricing.

We imported Les Baer 308 (this is a 1/2moa rifle) rifles but they are now back ordered by about 18 months or more and they are not even interested currently in small order form SA.

You are welcome - most of the stuff out there and which you see available in the USA etc is chasing pie in the sky and the rest takes damned hard work, tenacity, patience etc to get to SA.

Manufacturers like LaRue (and a lot of others) are not interested in SA - unless someone goes and gives them a $300k order maybe?

I've done gear sales here in the past. I was warned by my suppliers back home to be VERY careful over here. Most if not all are reluctant to do any business in SA.
