A motorist reportedly shot dead a would-be hijacker in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.
The motorist and his wife were reportedly attacked by a gang of four suspected hijackers in Alberts Road in Pinetown. Both were shot by the suspects.
Despite being wounded, the driver of the Toyota Camry managed to return fire, killing one of the four men, according to the police.
The three other men fled in a getaway car, reported News24.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha later confirmed that the husband was in a critical condition in hospital, and his wife in a serious condition.
No arrests had yet been made.

They way the dramatize their headlines at the expense of the innocents pisses me off, That's the type of headline you expect to see when a looney walks into a school and guns down innocent kids.
Anyway congrats to the motorist, hope he has a speedy recovery.

Again, interesting how the media chose the 'headline',ie "GUNS down...." vs eg motorist (succesfully) defends against hijacker.

If you read just the headline without the body, it makes you wonder who the victim is. I also love how they put the word hijacker in inverted commas. That's just a messed up way of saying that he COULD have been innocent and not a hijacker at all.

It's a Media24 nameless "staff reporter". Can't really expect quality news from them in all honesty, no point in being miff about it. It's like being annoyed when you go for dinner at BJ's because you expected a quality meal.
Sensation is how these idiots get clicks.

Fuck bad reporting! Well done to the warrior of a man who was prepared to fight for his family. I pray that he survives. I wish him and his family luck for a speedy recovery.
