Hijacker shot by driver
After attempting to hijack a car near Wemmer Pan on Tuesday August 20, a suspect was shot and wounded by the driver of the vehicle.

According to police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini, four men attempted to hijack the car on Mooi Street, near Wemmer Pan.

"The victim was at the on-ramp of the N17 when his vehicle was blocked by another car," said Dlamini.

"As he tried to make a u-turn, the suspects shot at his vehicle. The motorist got out of his vehicle and returned fire, shooting one of them in the foot."

Police arrested the wounded man and another man.
The two suspects will appear in Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on charges of attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms.
