Default Where can I practice and specs for targets

    Hi guys

I have been thinking of making my own targets as I work for a CNC Metal fabrication company so I can easily cut myself a target or two on our laser cutter
My question tho is what is the best type of metal and thickness to use for targets (I have a glock 22 gen 4 that's the .40)
My other question is where can I set up these targets to shoot at legally without the cops trying to arrest me or people being inconvenienced by the noise of me practicing

    Thanks guys

LM, 8mm steel plates cut to your size (whatever blows your hair back, but 9 inch is a nice size) in mild steel are plenty for handgun.
Shoot either on private land with landowner permission, like a farm in a safe place (good backstop etc) or a recognized shooting range. Do not shoot in built up areas or on public land except on recognized ranges.

Spend some time with Google and find a IPSC or IDPA club in your area and shoot till your hearts content. I'm sure any club would welcome a new member and help you out where they can, you can also shoot their steel until the white paint comes off.

Very important to mention here: NEVER shoot plates without eye protection. NEVER. Shrapnel on plates is plentiful, shooting them without eye gear is asking for a blind eye or two.

There was a diy post recently about a target tree thing, where the targets return to normal position
Can't seem to find the link
Sounds like something you'd be interested in

if you are able yo make your own, check this out: http://www.metaltargets.com/NewTarge...Acw#PaperStand

Otherwise join the SADPA and do IDPA or IPSC - I am busy getting into it, looks like great fun, and a good way to learn how to fight with your FA.

I have been looking at joining a club, but still have to do some research because it looks like it could end up being an expensive hobby..
