Can I take part in DMG or 2 Gun
So I just did the NSO and Classifier and keen to start shooting but the only competions in the next 4 weeks in Cape Town Is the Kraaifontein Hangun and Shotgun and FBSSC DMG
Can you shoot with handgun only in any of those?
Sorry if noob question but i cant seem to find it in the rules book

Yes you can.
You are allowed to shoot just the handgun stages.

Yes, you don't have to participate in all the events. They are considered seperate an any one event will give your four points. If you participate in all 3 you would still only get 4 points though.
You still get your points if you did not finish, just don't make it a habit of not finishing the shoots.

Thanks Dick!
Appreciate the response. I have not shot yet and just like the OP was wandering whether I would be able to take part.

Re: Can I take part in DMG or 2 Gun
I suggest you check with the club before you take it as a given that you can participate in only the handgun stages of any given match.
Club shoot 2 gun events ussually caters for members who can or want to do the pistol stages only.
If it is a DMG league you will most probable be required to participate in the full DMG event and that means "multi gun" = Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun.
DMG matches (I am not referring to Club shoot 2 gun matches run on DMG rules) will in future be set up to be mostly long gun heavy with handgun playing a distinctive support role only.

Re: Can I take part in DMG or 2 Gun
hgiddy, Check with Richard at KSC regarding their shoot. I'm sure you can do the Handgun part of the match. With regards to long guns ,FBSSC & KSC have a DMG intro clinic (an unofficial NSO) that you need to attend before participating in DMG matches. With regards to DMG matches at FBSSC we do not shoot handgun only stages. Our CoF's are all designed around the handgun being secondary and the long guns being the primary weapon. Also I can tell you our DMG matches consist of maybe 1 stage rifle or shotgun the other 3 or 4 stages are all multigun with 2 or 3 firearms and all our transitions are on the clock.
