ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
Forgive the ignorance.but can someone please tell me what the endorsement letters are for
I see both Sapsa and Sadpa issue them......
I presume it is a voluntary step to help with the motivation ???
or am I missing something in the Act/regulations

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
You are correct. It is a voluntary "extra" to help the motivation, to show that the firearm you are applying for is indeed suitable for your chosen sport.
Unfortunately CFR now sees it as some sort of requirement for applications for semi-auto rifles, and I think it will trickle down to all S16 applications.Sent electronically, thus not signed.

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
The letter is required by CFR, they have become a integral part of your application, unless it is not a firearm been bought under dedicated sports do not waste your time by not acquiring this endorsement letter before submitting your application as they will simply deny it outright.

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
ps. Your local club committee will assist you in acquiring the endorsement letter by providing them with the firearms relevant details, you can also request your club to forward you a letter of support to assist further in your application.

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
It has already trickled down to all S16 applications. I applied under Dedicated Hunting, and my DFO told me it's a new "requirement" by the CFR. She told me I can try as they know it's not in the FCA, but they rarely get approvals on S16 apps without them these days. So, the shit has already hit the fan, the spray just haven't hit most of us yet. :/

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
Here's the thing: It does not have to be specifically required in the act or the regulations. The act/regs empowers the Registrar to require you to provide any additional information which will assist him in making a decision.

the glory of the great dead.

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
I find it best to include as much information as you can get your hands on. Let them decide what is relevant to the application in front of them. You may think it insignificant or decide it's not a requirement iro the law. Let them have it all.

Re: ENDORSEMENT LETTERS
I haven't ever put an application in without one. I did not know they were required, it just never occured to me to try without one.
I put one in every sports application. Hey it is another page in the application.....
