Transfer SD FA to Sport
I have a FA licensed as SD (section13) and want to buy another one for SD. How can I change the current FA SD license to sport (sectoin16) so that I can license the new FA as SD?
Or if I have a FA as SD and one as sport and want to change the 2?

Re: Transfer SD FA to Sport
In all honesty, I would rather leave the FA you have as SD and just apply for another (section 16), as (I stand to be corrected) you may use it for SD as well. It is less complicated that way...... There are loads of posts on carrying and using your section 16 for SD.

The range register that you had to fill out.
Don't attempt to lie to carry your sport gun.
And don't buy a gun for pure SD purposes, and then licence it under sport. That would amount to incorrect info supplied to CFR, on your licence application and motivation.
While I have no qualms carrying a sport gun, be sure you are doing it right.Sent electronically, thus not signed.

Remember, the category the firearm is licensed under does not limit you when it comes to sport or self defense use.
Only, if I remember correctly, is that a sport licensed may not be stored loaded. I.e. one in the chamber.
Easier to license under sport the new one and use the two as you please.

Re: Transfer SD FA to Sport
Is this true? I thought when it is stored not even the magazine may be inside the pistol.
Can anybody confirm this?
Secondly, I did not read through the act in a long time. Must the ammo for a sporting weapon be kept separately from the firearm? If so it means you must get a second safe that must be inspected as well?
