    Flitz works via a chemical reaction, and is good, but if you are not concerned about a tiny bit of abrasion, you can check with a shop that sells Harley Davidson or other motorcycles and see if they carry 'Semichrome' or a similar metal polish (for wheels)

    dont think this will work too well cos the 14ZSF has a mett (spelling) finish. i suppose a cosmetic change isnt a bad thing tho. however, i got a tin of corrosion-X for free yesterday so will try it out this weekend and give you fellows feedback. thanks for the input

    and to be honest, when i got blood on the knife 2 weeks ago, i honestly think that was the primary catalyst to this oxi-what-what

    and for the record, i used the knife to skin an animal on the farm. braai was nice

    well the hail cracked the litlle guy's ribs so he tasted alot like kingklip

    and perspiration.
    i have used the lansky eraserblock,smoothe [1500 upwards] abrasive paper and a scothcbrite wheel.
    all these methods will alter the factory finish.if the cold steel blade has a factory "satin" finish the best method is the scothbrite or satin finishing wheel.this might remove the stain and refinish the blade

    BTW, had some Flitz on hand (Benchrest shops also stock it) - worked very well. Thanks for the advice!
