Survival weekend 14-15 dec
Ok seems like next available date for a survival weekend will be 14 to 15 december. One go bag is allowed for the two days. Btw the farm dam has been redone and know houses fish so survival fishing is now also a option. Any takers?

I'm keen, what "rules" do we have?
Fishing - what is available in the dam?
Hunting?
Shelter - are we allowed to build from materials gathered I.e. Chopping some small trees or should we bring tents.
How big can the go bag be? ;)

If it fits in the go bag you can bring it. Make the go bag practical and realistic. Hunting of small game is allowed if the weapon can fit in the go bag. Small game will include squirrels birds rabbits etc. Farm dam has tilapia in. Shelter will need to be built. As always beer does not count as part of the go bag. The whole point of a weekend like this is for fun and skills development.open to anyone that wants to come in the brits area north west

Cool haven't had a drink (alcohol) in the last 7 years...
Food - what do you guys normally take? I know its about survival but do you take rice or something like that as well?
Firearms - I only have a 357mag rollie I edc that will be accompanying me (may we hunt with this? 4" barrel)
Unfortunately I have to work on the 16th again, so will only spend the night of the 14th

It means you can have a beer bag. That rollie might be really good get some snakeshot to harvest a couple of birds or squirrels. Mostly I like to set traps for protein.i normally have some self raising flour in my gobag for some askoek

how about giving a description of kit you usually take along.
I have two bag to choose from, 85l hiking back pack or 30l day pack. I usually use the 30l for my mini survival/hikes.
Kit I'm thinking of taking:
Boots
Cargo pants
Shirt
Socks
Clean undies
Machete
Fixed blade knife
Pocket knife
Canteen x2
Fire bucket/kidney cup
Rollie and some ammo
Slingshot and some ammo
Plastic tarp
Fire making - matches and magnesium bar
Small first aid kit
Dixie set
4piece 4weigt fly rods and reel and flies
Sleeping bag
Hygiene kit
Must still make a trap kit
