Sheep...
Personally the BG would not have had the pleasure of taking my car.
Yes we cant all be sheep dogs, but come one, its your child, its your loved one..PROTECT them.
Come on. I am not saying these BG needed to be shot, but i am going to 100% bet this story would have been the other way if the person was EDC.
come on. *rant over*

Flamesuit on....
Ya know, I'm not so sure. She protected the kid, got him out of the car, and got to a place of safety. Life and limb first, possessions second.
It's oft-repeated wisdom that the best gunfight to be in is the one you can avoid. Bullets flying around a school pickup point? Dunno, hey....

Re: Sheep...
Agreed, but the setting could have been different. Our circumstances daily are so diverse that its probably better to be ready and able to go on the offensive than just let things happens. Just my 5c

@Vega
Not saying she shouldn't be armed... just saying that her actions may well have been the best she could have taken, whether she was armed or not.

Re: Sheep...
Anyone with tolder experience will know it often takes 3+ hands to get the little buggers strapped in.
With a child that young it is very difficult to maintain situational? awareness - if my wife got my 20month out safely I would be more than happy - screw the car as its insured.
Once they are a bit older it's a completely different ball game - my 5 year old is a great "scout" from her booster seat and I am very pleased she often points out dodgy characters; sometimes even before I do.
She already shown the insight and ability to think for herself and we often have play-drills where discuss and act out what to do in different situations.
A sheepdog in the making!
