Looking for a cutthroat/straight razor.
Hi everyone dose anyone know of a shop in Pretoria that stocks these Razors. Last I checked sharp edge didn't have in stock.

You get barber shops that sell them. Some of the older tobacconists might also have, it seems to go with the Peterson and Dunhill pipes.

Thanks skaap, I said to my self that I won't shave till I have the right equipment. My beard is getting quite big...

Old school barber apprentices trained with straight razors by covering balloons with shaving cream. You might want to give that a go before putting it to your neck

I shave with them. The modern stainless steel razors work well but the old carbon steel razors work a whole lot better because they keep an edge. I bought several of mine at antique shops.

Don't worry about cutting yourself - it only happens once. (There-after you'll be very careful!) Oh, and please get yourself a good brush as well as some decent shaving soap. The canned stuff doesn't work that well with cutthroats.

Sharp edge in Sandton city sells them, if they out of stock they should be able to order for you.

Dovo is a good brand and usually they go for about 1k new.
