Conical bullets for 4bore Inline Muzzle Loader

Gentlemen

I have the priveledge to own a rifled 4bore inline muzzle loader. MI am currently playing with 600gr BP behind a 1780 gr spherical lead hullet.

can any body please show me in the right direction as to where to obtain coninal bullets alternatively a mould for conicals.

Maybe try classic arms in witbank or nsn in pta. Mkonto arms in germiston also build 4 bores not sure if they sell conicals.

Ouch $ 1500! Nope. Me and my engineering friends are going to have a long chat over a few beers this weekend!

Find someone with a 3 axis CNC milling machine. Find the dimensions of that TRex size bullet have them make you a mold.

Then find yourself a lot of pure soft lead. Let the casting begin.

I have a .54 Hawken that I cast Minie bullets for. Great fun in shooting your home made cast bullets.

Don't need a fancy CNC 3 axis mill, anybody reasonably skilled with a reasonably accurate manual lathe and 4 jaw chuck should be able to make you one. If the guy is very skilled he might be able to cut it with a single point tool, otherwise grind a form tool of the profile you want allowing for clearance and grease groove depth. You can now use this form tool to cut different moulds with the same profile but different lengths (weights) or even different calibers (within reason).
