A DDM4 V7 Pro. Now just to get the licensing done...
In the mean time I’m wanting to look at getting into a sport shooting category of sorts. I’m a total noob in this and don’t even know where to begin. I’ve only been a hunter and have never done any club shoots that this AR could be used for. Any idea where I could find out more info on all this? TIA.

Mine was in correctly listed as a long rifle and not an SLR but it has been sorted. I will be getting the app in soon. Seems I am in good company:)

Hmm, I see a trend. Bought a S&W M&P 15 .22lr a month and a half ago. Was also listed as long rifle, finally updated and handed application in yesterday.

Hi Dementorium, what seems to be the issue with the LR and SLR when it comes to the M&P15-22. I bought one and submitted app in September2021, which now shows send to licencing section. Do i need to approach DFO to ensure correct classification?
According to the SAPS website, it shows calibre as .22LR (Long Rifle)

Hi BradTH, it was erroneously listed as a bolt action rifle instead of a SLR on CFR's system. The dealer imports it as a SLR and CFR fooks it up by capturing it as a BA instead <insert conspiracy theory here, cause I have one>... I am sure it could do no harm in just double checking with your DFO whether it is correctly listed on their system as a SLR and not BA.

For example when I applied for my SLR it was still showing under the importers name instead of the gunshop from where I had purchased it, luckily for me this was a 2 hour fix and not a month.

Thanks for the information, I will check with my DFO just in case. The day I submitted she checked to make sure it is registered under the dealers name and not still under Nicholas Yale .... and all was in order.
