So who is going?
My wife and I will be driving up from Bloemfontein for the Steel Challenge on Sunday.

Wife approved my visa yesterday with the proviso that I leave by 12 30, so looks like i'm in for my first steel challenge

Wow, that's quite a trip! I will most likely be there. Learnt a lot the previous time round and enjoyed it immensely.

What sort of round count will be just enough? 300+?

Depends on how kak you shoot. 300 should do. I took 200 the previous time and got nervous towards the end, but I had enough to empty a mag at the very last stop plate :-)

Looks like I can make it for the 8th, what time does the shoot start on Sunday?

Just remember Sunday's shoot has all 8 stages. Prepare for a longer day and bring ammo. 5x5x8=200 plus extra for fill in/stoppages.
