    Wanderin'Zero, I can imagine that yes. And yes, I do agree with you, it is quite pricey, but imo every cent worth it as I almost use it daily. The last time I dealt with them was in January this year and it set me back R3200 for my safe with installation.

    For labour, installation, certification etc.

    The certificate takes two minutes. As for installation, how long do you think it takes to drill a few holes, pass bolts through them and weld off the ends? I don't think it would all take me 20 minutes, if that.

    But maybe there's something I don't understand or see.

    Suppose its the same as a gunsmith threading a barrel and making an end cap for it, super simple and takes 5 mins

    They actually remove the seat cut away the metal support strut beneath the seat and then they install the safe. If you take the electronic safe that has to get wired in too.

    Each safe is car model specific.
