Awesome poem. .few of this generation understand unfortunately. I salute all our wounded and fallen heroes...salute!..respect!!

Few do understand. But on the other hand it's also, unfortunately, just schmaltz. They died defending or promoting a political system, not for "rolling hills of blue". Arguably UDI was a terrible mistake and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe would have been a very different country today had it not occurred. Think of Zambia for example.

Im not one for poem's but this pulls at the heart strings. My deepest respect for those who fought for something they believed in.

It does make a person think ; We all have to stand for something at some point in our lives , but it is tough to stand alone , as they say " United we stand , Divided we fall "....Thanks for sharing...

Northern Rhodesia has its problems. But it's never been torn apart by the race issues that have bedeviled Southern Rhodesia.
