    Something smells: Moord ruk spog-wynlandgoed

In Afrikaans, but it translates to 64-year-old Anthea de Preez found murdered in her home in the Breede River valley yesterday morning. No more details as to how she has been killed.

I know of 2 attacks in the last week in the Swartruggens area. Did not even make the papers. Assault no deaths. So how many more across SA not reported on?

Guys, about a week and a half ago there were 4 bizarre-ish attacks in the NorthWest, and in all the attacks there were about 7 armed attackers. They usually went for farm workers or security, trying to force them to open the houses. Details of the attacks vary from there, but I know they shot at one farmer.

At the end of these attacks the criminals abducted people, in one case people from the main house, and in the others farm workers, who they then took far away from the house, and then let go . Speculation varies, some think it was to scare the workers so they'd co-operate, other think it was to stop them making alarm before the criminals got away.

All these attacks were in or around Fochville/Carletonville, and yes, the one farm was once again my sister's place.

Shit John. And people on other forums still recommend revolvers for first time buyers-"you will never need more than 5 shotshit."
The one attack at Letamo is not on here but a very tragic event like all of them. These estates are being penetrated with ease and the inhabitants are not prepared.

No way, not in SA, and definitely not on a farm. 5 Shots is just the start of the fight.

2 weeks ago a friend in Kranskop area ( just outside Warmbaths) nearly fell victim to an armed assault from 9 attackers late the one night when he and his BIL was going to lock the gates to the farm house.
Luckily he and his BIL was armed and the dogs alerted them before they stepped into the ambush.
Get a PROPER WML and train with it. :)

Apparently the two BG's involved in this attack have since been involved in seperate shoot-outs with the police and both paid the price.
