Hi All,

Does anybody have an opinion about this knife http://www.sharpedge.co.za/ka-bar-be...ip-point-black

I as consideing an esee 4 http://www.ratcutlery.co.za/index.ph...&id=3&Itemid=5, but they go for about r3300.

I'm not a knife-guru, but they seem the same, bar the blade shape?

Wrong, there isn´t etc. etc.
I bought in the past from them (1 parcel with 5 knifes). Even with tax and custom inspection costs it was only the half price.

Great thanks. But is there not a lengthy wait for ordering from the US?

I don´t know how long it takes from the US to SA. But as far as I remember I didn´t wait longer then 2 weeks. I did choose the most economic mailing offered by the US postal service because I wasn´t in hurry.

Does Esee still give a life long warranty which includes breaking the knife.?

Biggest difference for me is the grind - flat grind on the Esee will make it a better slicer imo.

I have not seen what the Kabar sheath looks like but Esee has some realy nice sheaths and you can get polymer or leather afaik. A bad sheath just kills my interest in any knife.

Honestly I am also a bigger fan of the Esee sheaths. Looks like great quality. Have not handled either though. The Kabar does also have a flat grind.

The Esee is flat the Kabar looked more like a hollow grind form the pic.
