Default DPMS GEN II 308 AR

DPMS announced it's GEN II re-engineered 308 AR.

It is a lightweight platform with weight reduction achieved by innovative design while retaining strength to handle the 308 cartridge. DPMS achieved a 308 AR that is much like a AR15 in size and handling than the R25 series of 308 ARs available from the different manufacturers.

The lightest model weighing in at 7.5lb is amazing for a 308 semi-auto rifle.

Redesigned size, receiver, barrel extension, bolt carrier and bolt etc.

Interesting is the double ejector on the bolt and a redesigned and strengthened extractor.

    X2

Panther's really getting serious these days, and they're steadily becoming a serious contender in the AR industry. Best thing is they're keeping price down. .308 platforms are becoming more obtainable for the average Joe.

What's up w/the dub step on their website?

Decisions getting more difficult for my next rifle.
    300 AAC blackout or .308?
    DPMS HUNTER OR sass model?
DD 300 AAC with built in suppressor is a dream gun for me in there new mil spec + colour scheme .
but then DD MAY DECIDE to do a rifle in .308 and it will get tougher .....lol

Get both. The 7.62x51mm can shoot Major, the 7.62x35mm Minor

already have minor calibre 5.56 in DD v5.will most likely lean towards a 7.62x51 and there is that nagging voice for a 7.62x39.

7.62x35mm with suppressor for OAL of 16" "barrel" and you can shoot OSG. :)

the specs/info on the DPMS website are incredible. i assume a $1700 rifle would cost about ~R35k ?

The mere fact that Khumba started this thread tells me that these rifles will be available in S.A in the near future.
