    Default TacQM-Warrior Race 1 February 2014

www.tacticalquartermaster.co.za entered a team in the Warrior Race 2014, consisting of Dirk777, Honey Badger, and your truly.

None of us hand any experience of it, and aside from some Level 2 qualifications with Sports adventure shooting over the years (Most recently the previous weekend) none of us had participated in activity of extending physical exertion.

Speaking for myself, I was extremely nervous. All my team mates were younger than me and I certainly was the heaviest. Jogging has never been my strong point!

As a point of reference: apparently the average time to complete the “Rookie course” is about 90 minutes. However there are those individuals who are able to complete the course in 45minutes. WOW!

The Rookie course is 5km long and has 15 obstacles. Most of them required us to work as a team to get up/over/down or through. Most of the obstacle consist of varying viscosities mud & water.

In fact at the start line I remarked that I was getting a “wiff” of a septic tank…..little did I know
    ;-)

    Sweat Crusts.
    Tears Dry.

    Suck it up Princess!

    To be continued....

Hope you guys enjoyed it and very well done. I cant wait to get into the next one. My first warrior me and my wife did as a team and we did 70 min. The next one we did blackops and was just as much fun. I am stil recovering from my little stint in hospital but aim for the next rookie under a hour. Do blackops next it really is not as bad as you would think and if you did rookie with ease blackops will be possible.

Shoo....I am impressed thats a good time Gertjie.

I reckon we could have shaved off about 10 minutes for queuing at bottle necks etc. However now we know more or less what to expect for the next one.

Doing black ops would be great, however.....a bit more preparation is in order. Was strange seeing my name on the results followed by the word "Veteran"!

The beer was cold and therefore awesome!

Followed quickly by a second tankard of awesomeness.

The harder you work, the better the beer.

Unless it's warm, then nothing helps......

Thank you to our sponsors for making this Warrior race possible.

It was a tough day, I again learnt a lot, from my fellow competitors, and team mates.
