Dog Food
So looking at how prices have gone up on decent brands of dog food, I'd like to know what you are feeding your dogs and if kibble what brands? I'm looking at changing my german shepherds diet.

That is rough we sell it at R319 per 25kgThere are three different type of dog food out there. From worse quality to best you get supermarket foods. They are high in mealies has lower quality protein lots of flouvarants and preservatives and a low digest ability. Stay away. The next step is when they start using more rice and higher quality protein and no preservatives and coularants. Thos is the minimum I would suggest and are brands like montego and jock. Then we get the best foods which uses a lot of rice and very high quality protein they however add vitamin and mineral complexes to insure highest performance. This would be advisable. You are looking at brands like royal canin and eakanuba. You will also find grain free foods out there these are great but hell of a expensive and I do not believe they have that much more value.

Re: Dog Food
Have a look at Dogsense by Nutroscience. It is around R480 per 25kg for the Performer but worth every cent. They use pure Ostrich as the protein and not Ostrich extract like Montego. Used to feed my dogs Montego back in the day when they were using Ostrich before they changed over to the cheaper extract.
