    I agree, it is steep.
My local garage 1 block away, sells montego 25kg for R370, at a premium price.
If I drive into town then I get it for R325... So depending on how energetic, or lazy, I'm feeling dictates which price I pay :)

I changed my beagles to Acana, very expensive, but in my opinion, worth every cent.

After Hills and Eukanuba became too expensive, we searched for similar dog food and found this at a dog show: http://www.lusahn.co.za/food My one Amstaff and one Pitt get this, its about R400/20kg, lasts a month +-. Very impressed with the results in the past year.

There are more expensive foods, but unless you can go for a BARF diet (and damned few owners can or will) I have found nothing better than Royal Canin...certainly it is also not cheap but I like it better than what Eukanuba has now become, which is just another grocery store dog food.

I give mine hills. R740 or so for 18kg, but it lasts a month and a half.

I'm very happy with their health. they look good and happy.

I don't see alot of guys using hills. just wondering, why is this

I have just changed my pitty from Montego Karoo Puppy (Ostrich) to TLC Puppy (no maize)

His skin and coat condition is amazing, found out he had a maize allergy!

    I pay R440 for 25kg

Give my beagle and yorkie ProPac 15kg for I think R580 with the idea of premium food digests beter. No, the beagle poops alot! In the process of changing. Going to check out Montego. Have used Eukanuba with the same results.

If you live near a chicken abattoir the look at chicken heads and feet.

R70 per month for 5 dogs. Healthy, glossy, clean teeth, no bad breath, NO vets bills.

Just freeze the meals once a month and feed 6 times a week.

    Try beat that !!!
