Default New To the M&P 15-22 Family

    Hi guys

I just received my temporary Permit for my new M&P 15-22 and Can't wait to go and pic it up at Safari and Outdoor near Stellenbosch. Will definitely post some pics later tonight.

now i would like to know allot more about what i need for this rifle. I now I need allot of ammo(Any one willing to sponsor? lol) and i know there have been allot talk about what ammo to use and to shoot all the brands and see what works best for you and your rifle. My question to you is what gun shop in Cape Town has the best prices currently of best specials?

another Question that i have is i have a old Tasco airsoft scope and was wondering if you guys would recommend using it in this rifle or would the recoil be to much? i know there is almost no recoil i just don't want to break my scope.

Thanks in advance for your coming answers and i can't wait to see you at the range for the next 3 gun shoot.

any el-cheapo optic should be ok... there's just about no recoil in it.
as for ammo, the winchester 555's work incredibly well.
the S&B standard (sub) velocities also work damn well for subsonic use.

Would recommend either the Winchester 555 or Winchester Super X (Hollow Point Copper Plated).

(I prefer to use copper plated bullets instead of plain lead bullets as I am of the opinion it's better on the barrel in the long run)

Mine eats 555 and Super X like candy. It also loves Remington Sub Sonic and Highland HVHP.

Which Tasco scope? Some scopes require a riser to work properly on an AR-style rifle. Mine also uses an Airsoft quality sight. The same unit sold as NC Star and UTG and a bunch of other names.

Hi Guys thanks for the info will definitely try out all the Ammo i can afford.

the scope is a 3-9x40 tasco it is rather compact an the rings i have is a bit raised. i tested it out last night. i just wished that i did not have to remove my rear sight, but it look like i have to.
