    Default Ken Stewart passed away

The well known bullet smith Ken Stewart passed away today after a sudden heart attack.
This happened when on a visit to his family in Umhlanga.

Ken Stewart was born in Kenya in 1936, and had a wealth of experience in hunting, game capture and gunsmithing.
When the post-uhuru government outlawed hunting in 1976, he relocated to South Africa, where he started a business making bullets as well as cartridge cases.

Ken Stewart was a member of BASA, (Big Bore Association of South Africa).
He was also a regular exhibitor at the Firearms Festival.

I had the priviledge to share two safaris in Botswana with Oom Ken. One was a hunt in the Tshabong area of the Kalahari.
The other was a tour of the Okavango delta visiting the legendary hunters of old, including Harry Selby and Ian MacFarlane.

The hunting fraternity has lost a great man.

    RIP Oom Ken.

That is a loss to us all, so much knowledge gone with him. Going to miss his stories.

    RIP Ken
