Ruger vs Winchester 30-06
Hi guys
One of my mates is in the process of buying a new rifle. He has the option of choosing between a new ruger or a new winchester. There is a price difference of R3 or R4k. My main question is,is there a significant difference in the quality of the two rifles to warrant the diff in price? My advice to him was to maybe go for the ruger, and then still have the extra cash to put towards his next gun. But I also said he should get another opinion.
Any advice or comments will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Ruger vs Winchester 30-06
I have a Ruger and a Winchester.
Both are excellent Rifles in my opinion, and accurate.
See which one fits him best, and go for that one.A roaring Lion kills no game

I have a Ruger M77MkII in 30-06, and I wish all my rifles were Ruger.

Re: Ruger vs Winchester 30-06
My suggestion would depend on which model Winchester it is. If it is the standard post-64 model (push feed) I would go for the Ruger no question. If it is the M70 "Classic" which has the non-rotating (Mauser type) extractor I would consider the Winchester. If the Winchester is 4k more than the Ruger, I don't think it is that much better than a Ruger to justify that...and I would rather take the Ruger.
Guys who own and use Rugers love them.

Yes greyhound.
Here is one - If you have MS Office picture editor - open - select on top "edit pictures" on right-hand side select "resize" and voila - choos your size. tup
