I cant understand statements like these, the same as with the DMG statements.

There is nothing wrong with this, it is legal, do you now want to put more rules and regulations on us. There are already to many, why make it more difficult.

    Please explain this mate.

Only a select few should has DSS.
If I can only afford to shoot my guns twice a year they should be taken?
I can afford to shoot every weekend so I'm not worthy?
My skill isn't good enough to shoot for SA colors so I shouldn't be allowed the honor of owning an SLR?!
Only the cool group should be allowed the cool toys.

Seriously? What loophole? They comply with the provisions stipulated in the act, and are SAPS certified.

So you just do the shoot yourself in your backyard and pretend the targets were put up at the right distances? Whats the point then of having to go through all this if theres no one checking that you do it right and actualy know how to use a gun?

That is why the range officer signs you off. Then again, you obviously don't trust the other NSA member to have the ethics to do the right thing either. Why are you wanting to restrict firearms ownership and DSS to a certain select few bodies? What is your problem?

Edit: correction a la Andrew below.

Correction Manservant, it has to be a registered Range Officer and on a registered range. If he also happens to be a NSA member then the RO is to note the NSA membership number on the target.

BSA, no one is forcing anyone to take the NSA route.

This Nsa thing can be the downfall for all who wants to get dss. Just need someone from the police to pick this loophole up. Id rather do it through a hunting or sport shooting club.
This has been discussed before and you are rehashing old news. There is a system to get competency, a licence and then options to get dedicated status. The NSA status is approved by the CFR, what is the problem? If you don't agree with it then take the other options available to you.

    You can cheat.
    You can lie.
    You can steal.

    Those are all personal choices.
