Default .303 Brit what do you see here.

    1901 ? bit scarcer ain't it ?

Who can add some facts about this .303, a little quiz perhaps, who deciphers what from these markings.

Long Lee, Made by Enfield, rebarreled by BSA or BSA barrel changed locally, so probably had the sights upgraded for MKVII ammo. No charger bridge?it has seen Union service with Arrow in U, Diamond in U shows it was sold out of Service.

Sold out of service means it was at one time in the UDF arsenal and then retired from UDF service and sold to the general public.

The Manufacture date on the action puts it as a Boer War era rifle. Hard to tell if it was a Boer War rifle though. Have the sights been upgraded to CLLE sights and does it have a charger bridge?

Probably doesn’t have a charger bridge.

I think the charger bridge necessitated removal of the dust cover. Did it?

    Yes, that's my understanding.

    I'll go with CorditeCrazy's identification

Slowly building a picture of this weapon, I see its a Enfield - BSA barre, but can not find a date for new barrel in photo's.

The 1901 is a year I have never seen before. Crown over VR - Victoria Regina
