Default 375 Ruger and Boyd Laminated Stock

Hey guys, do you think that a Boyd laminated stock will take the recoil of a 375 Ruger?

Hi Dale it's a synthetic Hogue and while it's very accurate it's not me. My other choice is grade 5 or 6 walnut custom which will set me back max of 10k......
By the way 243 is being blued as soon as it's back I will head to range

    Gary.

I can't comment on the synthetic stocks but I will say this. I changed my original wooden stock on my 30-06 to a black Hogue overmould stock and I noticed a distinct reduction in felt recoil. It would appear that the rubber overmould tends to absorb more "shock" than wood and it has a really soft recoil pad.

I am also aware however that not everybody likes the look of the Hogue rubber overmould stock.

The Boyds stock if bedded and fitted properly will take the recoil of the 375 Ruger.

Thanks Dale, not sure re recoil. Thanks Rudi, what's your opinion on recoil, Boyd vs Hogue?

I have a Boyds thumbhole on my Howa 375 Ruger. Just dropped in and tightened screws, no muzzlebreak/silencer/mercury tube etc and she runs fine.

I agree with you in saying that the Hogue absorbes the felt recoil better. With a Pachmayr Decelerator pad on the boyds you will be fine.
