Default Franchi pumpaction - Your opinion please.

Hi all. I bought this Franchi pumpaction about a year ago. Still waiting for the license md217, but specifically with IDPA 3 gun in mind.

I realize that it might not be the best, but I guess you have to start somewear.

Would like to hear your opinion on the gun please...

Sorry about the poor pic quality.

Unless its pretty much reamed to the point where it cannot be shot reliably, I do not see what can possibly be wrong with a Franchi pump gun. All the Franchi's that I've shot, were exceptionally good and a lot of fun to shoot.

I think you bought an excellent shotgun, my friend. The "best" gun is the one that you can shoot best IMO.

    Mossberg.

I bought the exact same model Franchi, this pump model is the SAS-12. A fine buy in my opinion. why on earth would you think that it is anything short of delightful?

It is the right name, now if only i could find a Franchi SPAS 12 ;)

    Thanks Andy,
I'm no expert on shotguns, that's why I said "might not be the best".
In my mind I believe I bought a bargain, only paid R750. I guess that's why I thought it might not be the best.

I personally think you got a hell of a deal. I have a Franchi pump whichis about 15 18 years old which has chewed its way through approx 25 000 rounds and its still good.

Sorry KK20, I think I'll hang on to the idea of having it.

wrt to the franchi semi auto specifically the more common 500 series ( 501, 502 etc ) the earlier version came out with a twin port in the gas chamber which was sensitive to ammo types.
the later newer designed with 4 port and rubber O ring is able to digest a variety of ammo with self adjustment and its an exellent weapon. along with the 1100.
