The Free State is flat and boring...

Ok, so it is not really a trip or an adventure, just the view from my backyard, but in the right light the Free State can be quite presentable. And my neighbors are really nice...

Nice view I drove the n3 4 times in the last three months and the road is boring but not some of the views.

The southern Freestate is basically where the Karoo begins, in short a much better place. The further you travel north the worse it becomes.

Ja anyone who says the Free State is flat and boring has clearly not been to the Southern Free State. When I was young, dumb & didn't have much mon, one of the cheaper places I could find to hunt was near Clarens/Golden Gate - I remember many hours walking up & down mountains (Un scoped .303 No. 1 Mk111, I had to get close - the farmer cracked up laughing the 1st time I visited when he saw my rifle & said: 'seun, jy gaan afkak' or words to that affect.)

Actually DirkB's Freestate view is pretty good too.

I grew up in the Free State's flattest, ugliest parts. But I absolutely love parts of it.
