Spyderco Paramilitary 2 vs. Burger EXK1
I am currently in the market for a EDC folder and have narrowed it down to the above mentioned two folders. Is there any forum members that own or have experience with these two knives? I have EDC'ed a Spyderco Delica for the last three years and absolutely love it. The reason why I am considering buying another folder for EDC is that I want a knife that has a FFG blade and a handle constructed from G10.
I would appreciate any input, regarding the ergonomics, effectiveness of blade shape, weight, etc. of the two knives.
Regards
Willem

Both are good choices, but I would go for the Burger, Fantastic knife by all accounts!

Re: Spyderco Paramilitary 2 vs. Burger EXK1
Depends... i have a Burger LEXK Carbon Fibre and Spyderco Military. The Burger is finished better, the Burger is more refined and IMHO more of a gentlemans folder. PM2 is tougher, better steel, made for more hard work.
So if you are going to spend more time staring at your knife get the Burger because you can stare hours at the workmanship. If you are going to use it hard get the PM2. You will feel less sorry for the PM2 to use it hard. My LEXK has worked very hard and i am proud of it

If you can get the pm2 in something like M390 or similar sprint run then that but if the choice is between pm2 in S30V or the Burger then the Burger definitely!
i have a few really nice knives but somehow my knife I carry 80%+ is my M390 PM2

Re: Spyderco Paramilitary 2 vs. Burger EXK1
I have the LEXK with carbon fibre and the PM2 in normal S30V...
The burger has a stronger blade in my opinion. Burger's heat treating is excellent and stronger because it is a bit thicker. The point is bit thicker and seems stronger as well.
I am a bit afraid of the PM2's tip breaking but then again I am not going to do something to try and find out which tip is stronger :P
Aaaaand, I carry the PM2 more.
Neat work I will carry the LEXK, but general use the PM2. The LEXK is more special as it is custom and excellent made, but the PM2 is very scarce at the moment. I will use the PM2 more than my LEXK. Production knife is easier to replace than a custom.
The LEXK is my favourite pocket knife of all times, but it lies on my desk for light work or in the glass cabinet. The PM2 is my slicer and worker.
Get both if you can afford it :) I rate it is the best of both worlds within their budget classification.
I would however sell both of them in a heart beat (If I could sell both at once together) and buy a Chris Reeve Sebenza 21 Large. I have handled one it is just amazing. If you don't know it, go google him :)

S30V is bad for people who aren't after the super edge retention steels. Give the normal user (no offence intended to OP - not implying anything) a steel harder than S30V, and they will have a hard time putting a nice edge on it.
S30V is already a bit more tough to sharpen properly.
But yes, I would've taken a M390, S90V etc if I could have instead of the S30V

i don't believe in safe queens. Yes it would be a catastrophic, monumental, heart breaking disaster if I had to loose one of my customs but what's the pleasure in having them then?
BTW this week I'm carrying my one of a kind computer graphic Damascus Chris Reeves left handed Sebenza. I carry them because I love them!
