Hijackers bit off more than they could chew when they tried to hijack a Toti man on Saturday, 24 May.
Four men allegedly accosted a 45-year-old man and tried to hijack his vehicle at gunpoint and shot him in the leg at about 4pm in Mayville Terrace. He allegedly shot and killed one of the hijackers, who died at the scene.
“The other three sped off in their getaway vehicle,” said Captain Thulani Zwane of the SAP KZN media centre. “Amanzimtoti police are investigating a case of hijacking and attempted murder and an inquest into the man’s death. Police recovered a firearm with the serial number filed off next to the deceased.”

Is it just me or does that SAPS logo appear to move while you are reading the story?

Re: Toti man shoots and killed hijacker.
I am almost never glad when someone gets shot, killed etc - it is usually because of stupidity, irrationality or some similar string of thoughts. It would be so nice if all people could use thier brains and/or muscles to honestly earn a living and live together in peace.
Reality dictates that I am, however, also very glad that people value their own lives and morals high enough to stand up for it against BG's, even if it means taking lives. Some people just won't or want to listen to good sense.

Great outcome. One thing I must make mention of is that one never hears of hijackings being prevented by pepper spray, a loud whistle, a knife or a stick. Concealed carry ftw.
