Default Using a sports licensed semi-automatic rifle for patrols

I take your point and perhaps i am overreacting in my response to you. my frustration lies in having to battle this perception daily. We are working very hard not to be perceived in this way. Please accept my apologies. The tone of the comment is what got me wound up.

In fairness, despite the unfortunate choice/taste in attire, at least nobody is wearing a beret or open carrying a semi-auto rifle...or not in such a manner that there is photographic evidence of it.

I do echo the sentiment that it would serve the organisation well to kick the wearing of camo's in to touch.

Now it is fashionable for the Grubby Angels to do so. With matching overalls too.

Well, I fully understand your frustration.

You are right about my perception. But then, perceptions are formed from information gathered or presented. Now, from the (edited) facebook page, what perception am I to form? That picture was uploaded after the "new patroller training".

I must say that from what I hear on (edited - radio channel) (edited, patroller name) and those guys seem very calm and level headed.

Look, perhaps the camo jackets are the only really warm jackets the guys have.

I have been involved with NW for quite some time, in a different suburb where I was a patroller.

To me, it should be an eyes-and-ears function only. Nothing more.

The (edited) page had a post last week about effecting a citizen's arrest.

Now I wonder, why, and where is this going?

Perhaps it was facilitated by an armed response company? I don't know, just guessing at a possible explanation. Was it a NW patroller?

i take you point on the camo, personally the attire hardly comes across as combat camo attire as the tome of the comment suggested... But is skaap percieves it as such then that means tannie sannie down the street probably has an even worse perception of it. We accutally don't allow camo attire and its unfortunate that that picture displays the opposite... I know the people wearing it and ill have a word with them personally. I just would like to stress that the perception left behind by skaaphaas' original comment is exactly what how we dont want to be perceieved

My brother is part of the Mnandi patrols. Even if they are wearing camo's they still do everyone a huge fucking favour by risking their own lives by making yours safer.
